WAVE TIMERS
Wave makers control the power heads in your aquarium by sequencing them on and off to simulate the natural current of the ocean environment. All the experts agree, “Water movement in your aquarium is one of the most important factors in aquarium health, fish as well as coral”. Wave makers provide your aquarium with the means to control water circulation. Wave makers create surge and turbulence which keep your tank healthy. Corals rely on water currents to provide food and oxygen as well as removal of waste. Algae grows in areas where circulation is poor. By providing better circulation wave makers allow a better gas exchange at the tank surface. This allows CO2 to be released and oxygen to be acquired. Fish enjoy the currents and get a cardiovascular workout, keeping them healthy as well. The complex water movement provided by a wave maker allows your filter to act upon all of the water in your tank - top to bottom. The circulation benefits can even keep diseases like “white spot” from appearing.

 The TSUNAMI provides water movement by switching the AC power (up to 4 Amps total) to the powerhead pumps based on the time settings of the Timing Control Knobs. P1 & P2 outlets alternate, that is, when one is on the other is off. P3 outlet is independent of P1 & P2 and has its own Timing Control Knob. Times are adjustable from approximately 1 minute to approximately 40 minutes. When the feed push-button is depressed, pumps are turned off for a user controlled period of between approximately 1 minute and 40 minutes. There are two available Feed modes. A selector switch on the rear panel allows selection of either all pumps off, or only the main pump off during feeding. When the Night Mode sensor is used, the pumps are placed in a gentle mode when the lights go off, creating less turbulence, thus simulating the calming of a reef at night. * Invertebrates need changing water movement to ensure nutrients are carried to them, and waste products are carried away. * Changing currents improve live rock's ability to convert ammonia to nitrite, to nitrate and then nitrogen gas. * Fish love the excitement of changing water flow. * Detritus removal is greatly enhanced by a variety of flow patterns * Only the TSUNAMI has the Night Mode Sensor for calmer nighttime environments. |
