Think about it... you have hundreds, thousands even tens of thousands of dollars invested in your marine tank, yet you probably rely on a $10 box type hydrometer to measure saliniity. Chances are, the hydrometer is not accurate, sometimes not even close. A salinity refractometer is the only way to accurately measure salinity and specific gravity. All of our salinity refractometers have ATC - Automatic Temperature Compensation: when the temperature of the product sample varies from 68°F (20°C), readings are automatically adjusted to compensate for temperature variance between 50°F to 86°F (10°C to 30°C).



Reads 0-10% salt and 1.000-1.070 specific gravity.

To check salinity- simply place 2-3 drops of tank water on the meter and look at the reading through the eyepiece.

To calibrate- place 2-3 drops of R.O. or distilled water on the meter, look through the eyepiece and turn the calibration screw until the scale reads 0.
